Bat Four-Layer Chocolate Cake, Serves 8-10

• Rich chocolate cake, rich buttercream

WHY WE LOVE IT

• Halloween revelers will be over the moon about this handmade dessert. Conjured by the artisans of We Take the Cake, it features four layers of scratch-baked chocolate cake separated by white buttercream. The outside of the towering treat is decorated with fondant bats and a dusky moonlit sky created in ombré buttercream.

Receiving Instructions

• Cake ships frozen with dry ice, which may have evaporated during shipment. This is normal. Please take care not to touch any remaining dry ice with bare hands.
• Upon receipt, remove boxed cake from shipping container and store in freezer for up to 3 months. Alternatively, remove plastic wrap from cake and store in refrigerator for up to 7 days.

Preparation Instructions

• Cake is best enjoyed at room temperature. If frozen, remove plastic wrap and store boxed cake in refrigerator overnight. Remove from refrigerator approx. 2 hours before serving. To avoid color changes, keep cake in its box, out of direct light, while bringing to room temperature.
• To serve, run large knife under hot water and dry with towel before every slice. Store leftover cake in airtight container in refrigerator for up to 3 days.
